Meet our Trail Leaders

William Murphy-Riley

Senior Trail Leader, Customer Relations Manager

William is a long time dog hiker and has many years studying dog behavior. As the former owner of Trail Dogs. He stepped back into the role of customer service manager and lead trail leader after a year away. William is very connected with the dogs and is exceptional at reading body language and pack dynamics. He is often found hiking with his deaf dog Casper.

Alexa Brune

Trail Leader

Alexa has over 2 decades of experience working with dogs. She started working with dogs at a very young age. She began by volunteering at her local shelter and moved on to working for rescues and daycares up and down the west coast doing rehabilitation, fostering, and training.

She has extensive experience handling groups of dogs and knows how to keep the experience fun and upbeat for everyone. When not walking for Trail dogs, she can be found hanging out with her two Chihuahua rescues, Honey Bee and Simon Dupree.

Charlie Vowels

Solo Hiker

Charlie is a contracted hiker for our Solo Hike program. She has many years of pet sitting and dog walking experience. She worked in a dog boarding facility, where she learned to handle dogs of all sizes and personalities. Charlie enjoys building trust with the dogs she works with and making sure every hike is safe and enjoyable.

Steve Draper

Solo Hiker

Steve is a contracted solo/duo hiker. A lifetime animal lover, he’s highly attuned to animals. With a number of professional training and behavioral courses in his pocket, he is wonderful with the dogs and handles some of our higher energy pups. He can frequently be found hiking with his dog Max.
