Our story

NW Trail Dogs was founded in 2007 as the first dog hiking adventure company in Bellingham, Washington. We've transformed the traditional dog walking experience by taking it off city sidewalks and into the woods. Our mission is to provide your dog with an adventure filled with new friends, sights, scents, sounds, and exciting experiences.

Meet the owner

Kevin Enderle is the proud owner of NW Trail Dogs. A lifelong dog lover, Kevin has been an active member of the Bellingham business community since 2005. In 2024, he took ownership of NW Trail Dogs, bringing with him an extensive background in small businesses and a passion for animal welfare.

Throughout his career, Kevin has been deeply involved in fundraising for various animal rescues, demonstrating his commitment to the well-being of our furry friends. His dedication to providing high-quality pet services aligns perfectly with NW Trail Dogs' mission and reputation.

Bringing Trail Dogs into the Modern Era

While Trail Dogs has a long history, Kevin was determined to bring Trail Dogs into the modern era. Implementing a new customer portal with a locally owned software system called Paw Partner has made it much easier and more convenient for clients to manage their accounts. New vans, new logos, Kevin developed a dedicated Senior dog hike and our highly successful Solo/Duo hiking program. He’s dedicated to giving our clients an even better, more diverse dog adventure experience. While we now have well over twice as many dogs, we continue the same commitment to caring for each and every one of our dogs and clients.

How it works

Pick-up and adventure

Our typical day looks like this:

• Pick-up time: Between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM

• Location: Your home or office

• Transportation: Our specially equipped shuttle van

• Adventure duration: 2 to 2.5 hours of off-leash hiking in the woods

• Return time: Between 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM

Your dog will return home tired, happy, and ready to relax after their exciting adventure.

Safety measures

We prioritize your dog's safety:

• Each dog wears a GPS tracking collar during the hike

• This allows us to monitor their location at all times

• Ensures smooth off-leash hikes
